Mathijs de Wit

Personal information:
I’m a hard working player. My strong suit is big physical carries and defence. Besides that I’m a social guy who fits in easy with new people. My preference is inside center but I can play outside and wing as well.

I joined the rugby academy midden oost (RAMO) in 2012 to get the best out of myself. This is one of the premier talent institutions in the Netherlands where high school is combined with rugby talent development. This allowed me to go to the European Championship with the Dutch under 18 team in 2014.

After I completed high school I went on to train at the National Training Centre (NTC) in 2015 to continue improving my rugby level and study et the same time. This allowed me to join the Dutch under 20 team to the European Championship in 2016.

After being in the NTC for 2 years I joined the senior team at the club I was playing for. We became national champions for the first time in the clubs history in 2023.

I’m looking to challenge myself in a new country at a different club. I have the feeling that I have to move to a different country and club to get the most out of myself and to keep improving.
